Welcome to the International Aerobatic Club
Chapter 88 of Michigan.
We are dedicated to the sport of recreational
and competition aerobatics.If you are interested in finding out what it's like to fly competition aerobatics or just want to safely explore the outer envelope of flight, please join us at a chapter meeting or at one of our events. We have a lot of members who are non-pilots and encourage aviation enthusiasts to join us.
The chapter meetings are usually held the third Sunday of every month. For specific meeting and event times see the calendar or contact one of the chapter officers. NEW in 2011 we are doing a voice conference with computer interface. It’s a max of 15 people remotely participating. See our calendar for details so you can attend our meeting from the comfort of your own home if you are geographically challenged.
We hold an aerobatic contest, the Michigan Aerobatic Open honoring prior club member Henry Haigh, in Jackson, Mi each summer. This Mid-Amercia Regional contest is held the weekend after the Fourth of July. See details about our 2011 contest HERE.
A Judges School is typically held every other year in the spring to teach new folks how to judge competition aerobatics and for those who are interested in learning about the sport (you need not be a competition pilot). The school also satisfies the re-certification of current judges.
